WASHING YOUR HAIR EXTENSIONS

Washing your hair extensions properly is crucial for maintaining their quality. I will provide you with only the best top rated extensions in the industry and carry signature Shampoos and Conditioners specifically for hair extensions.

 1. Preparation:

  • Detangle: Gently brush out your extensions to remove any tangles before washing.
  • Choose the right shampoo:  Opt for a sulfate-free shampoo, as sulfates can dry out and damage hair extensions.
  • Prepare the sink: Fill a sink with lukewarm water and add your shampoo.

2. Washing:

  • Submerge and wash: Gently submerge each weft (or clip-in piece) into the soapy water, holding the top of the weft and washing the strands with your fingers.
  • Avoid circular motions: Avoid scrubbing or rubbing the hair too vigorously, especially near the bonds or clips.
  • Lather and rinse: Gently massage the shampoo through the hair and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water to remove all soap residue.

3. Conditioning:

  • Apply conditioner: After rinsing the shampoo, apply conditioner from mid-length to the ends, avoiding the root area and the bonds of the extensions.
  • Leave in and rinse: Allow the conditioner to sit for a few minutes (3-5 minutes is usually recommended) before rinsing thoroughly with lukewarm water.

4. Drying and Styling:

  • Air-dry: Allow the extensions to air-dry, or gently squeeze out excess water with a towel.
  • Use a low heat setting with a hairdryer: If you choose to blow-dry, use a low heat setting and point the airflow towards the floor.
  • Comb or brush extensions: Once dry, gently comb or brush the extensions to maintain their shape and prevent matting.
